MotoGP

The MotoGP season started last weekend. I will not repeat what I wrote for BlogCritics, however I will link over to my Race Report, and season preview.

Pop along, and let me know what you think, will it be a Yamaha year, or will other teams be on the Yamaha pace? It’s certain that the Ducati is quick in a straight line, after seeing Stoner at the weekend, but will it work around the twists.

Is Rossi a God?

Rossi.jpgWell he may not be one off the traqck, but on the track he certainly is!

He qualified yesterday in 11th place, with a very un performant Yamaha. However we all know bad bikes, and bad qualifying mean little to the 7 times world champion.

After the first lap of the race he was in 8th, a few laps later he joined the front running Honda's. 'The Doctor' proved his ability with a Yamaha that is certainly not as quick as the Honda bikes, by slicing his way through to 2nd by mid race, he then put the move on Melandri to take the lead.

He held the lead over the Honda bikes of Melandri, Pedrosa and Hayden up untill the last few laps where Melandri overtook him with a great block pass.

Rossi however was not going to take 20 points for second when he could take 25 for first, he passed Melandri with two laps remaining and held it brilliantly through the last corner where Melandri tried a move on Rossi that just failed.

All in all, a great race from all the riders involved.
