VW Group have announced the current MKV Golf will be replaced in 2008 by the MKVI. The new Golf will be based on a tuned version of the current model's running gear, but will have a more aggressive style both front and back. It looks nice, the standard car will probably inherit some of the current GTi model's looks, so the GTi should be great to look at.

The engine lineup will be pretty much the same as the current lineup but with the dual charged engines appearing on more than the 1.4ltr one (Golf GTi with 2ltr Supercharged Turbo would be a hoot).

That however is in 2008, coming next year will be the R36. This will be based on the current R32, but with the 3.6ltr V6 that has been seen in the Passat probably pushing around the 280-300bhp mark. The car will come equipped with 19" alloys based on the design from the Lamborghini Gallardo, suspension, brakes and the 4×4 system will be tweaked as well.
