Time to catch up on the motoring news.
LRX Concept -
One of the ‘prettiest’ cars to come out of the Land Rover group (or if you like the First Pretty car) is the LRX Concept that they have been banding about for a wile now as it appeared at both Geneva and Detroit (in two different colours).
It seems that Land Rover have seen the demand potential for the
car and have given the green light for it to become a production model. It was obvious that at some point the ‘Sport’ monica from the Range Rover Sport would be brought down the range to the Freelander, so please say hello to the Freelander Sport.
The FL Sport is designed to compete in the BMW X1/Audi Q5 segment of the market. It’s thought that it will come with a V6 Petrol option and the 2.2Ltr Diesel (in Europe at least). Let’s hope Land Rover get it as right as the RR Sport, as that has good on road manners, but can still hold it’s own in the muck, oh and LR, don’t chicken out, Make THIS car, don’t do a VW Sciroco.
Talking of the VW Audi Group, Audi have shown off their first 7 Speed DSG gearbox.
The box will get dropped into a bunch of the Audi range shortly, and after that will see outings in the other VAG cars.
When full details are announced, along with a car with it in, expect we to do another write up, as the DSG is one of my, well pet loves.
