102 movies

Roger Ebert has written a "102 movies you must see before…."

Have a look and see how many of the so called must see movies you have seen. The ones that are chosen for the most part are good, however there is a bunch of titles that should be in there from more recent times, Fight Club is the most recent title on the list (1999), and it's the most recent by a good majority.

What other titles should be on it? There are some amazing movies that have been released in the last 20 years or so. I mean things like "The Life Aquatic" should be in the list of should see movies. It's a masterpiece of both cinematography and story driven comedy.

The Village Wakes

A good friend of mine is in a band Why am I posting? Well they have some new tunes up. I hghly recomend you pop over and have a listen, you might just like them….

Dr Who - Tooth and Claw

DrWhoWolf.jpgHonestly I would go through my thought's on last night's Dr Who. But again (as last week) Dan has beaten me too it.

I would like to add to Dans run through, the CGI guys at the BBC really need a hand of applause, the Dr Who CGI just keeps getting better (and worse strangely). If you sit down and look at the CGI it's extremely well done technically, all the right lighting, transition and animation is there. But because it's for Dr Who it's still has that cheesy 'not real' edge to it. Brilliant.

Dan sums the episode up perfectly so pop along there and have a read. Oh and for those not in the know a new 'Game' has been launched by the BBC. Who is Doctor Who? oh and there is Visit Torchwood as well ;)

Grand Prix SE

protectedimage.jpgThe DVD Times is reporting that a region 1 version of a fully restored version of the great F1 movie is being released. It features a restored 65mm to DVD video transfer and a remastered 5.1 soundtrack.

It also features a bunch of documentaries, 4 of which have not been released before.

I'm not sure about a region 2 release date (or even if it's coming here) so I would pick it up from your local R1 distributor.

Titanic 2

Great cut up of some of the original footage, as well as some new FX and clips from other movies.

Dr Who Season 2

The premier episode of the 'modern' Dr Who season 2 was shown on Saturday called 'New Earth'. It looks like their may be a theme running through this season.

Saturday was a homage to Zombies, with next weeks being a werewolf episode, and as Dan also picked up looks to be in the same or similar vein as 'Brotherhood of the wolf'. So with a little luck this season may be based around the 'original' horror villains (zombie's, werewolf, devils, vampires etc).

David Tennant is very good as the Doctor, but I can't help remembering Barty Crouch Junior from Harry Potter every time I seen him. That's not however a bad thing as he plays a psycho in that as well. Billy is even becoming a decent companion. Bring on the next episode.

StormBreaker

This English production has jut shown up on my radar. Yes I may be a bit behind, but I thought this was going to be a kiddie flick.

Turns out I was wrong!

This is just a new twist on the whole 'Bond' thing, based on the StormBreaker books by Anthony Horowitz. Plus it's got some of my all time favorite actors in it. People like Ewan McGregor, Mickey Rourke, Bill Nighy, Sophie Okonedo, Alicia Silverstone, Damian Lewis, Stephen Fry, Andy Serkis and Robbie Coltrane don't just turn up all in one movie for no good reason now.

I realy do hope this is a cracker (partly as it's us Brit's doing what we do best, 'Bond' but in a new way), but more because we can then hope that this will quench the US thirst for these sorts of flicks and they will not make any more 'XXX' movies ;)

Pop over to the official site for the trailers and news.

Pearl Harbour II

I really don't know how I missed this one, Pearl Harbor II - Pearlmageddon.

It's funny, decently edited, clever FX (for the budget).

Pop along and download yourself a copy (QT Required).

Brilliant, Just brilliant
