I have upgraded the ROM on my MDA Pro again. I was getting a few issues that I could not quite put a stop too, so decided to hard reset the device, but while at it may as well upgrade the ROM.

The Rom I chose in the end was the latest T-Mobile Netherlands one, version 1.30.115 WWE, I teamed that up with the last Qtek extended rom 1.30.176 WWE and Radio Rom 1.09 (although 1.11 is out, there are BT issues reported with it).

If you would like to do the upgrade yourself then you can download my 'pack' of roms here, yes it's 70Mb but includes :- WinCE rom 1.30.115WWE, Radio 1.09 and 1.11 and both the QTek and TMobile extended roms.

So download it, have a read of the readme.txt file and make you choice.

It looks like Bill Gates is to 'retire' from his day to day job at Microsoft effective July 2008. He will then take a smaller role in the company and spend more time on the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, he would also continue to serve as the company's chairman and an adviser on key development projects.

This s certainly one I am looking forward too, I was never very good at it on the SNES, but still enjoyed it.

The current MR2 (MRS) Roadster is set to leave us shortly. The last 300 cars will be special edition's called the TF300.

Owners will be able to spec it to their own tastes, but the cars will include the number hand stitched into the new leather and alcatara seats.

Let's hope the replacement MR2 goes back to being a 'proper' MR2, perhaps with a soft top option.

I've upgraded my MDA Pro to radio ROM 1.11 in an attempt to improve the switchover between UMTS and GPRS.

So far all is well, battery life seems to have improved slightly, but that is unconfirmed as push email adds varying loads to the device from day to day.

If you want to upgrade your's, it does not hard reset the device so you should loose nothing.

Steps for upgrade 

• Download my Universal_Radio1.11_upgrade.zip 
• Unpack the zip to a folder on your disk (any will do)
• Reset your Wizard to Update mode by holding down light, power and pressing the reset button with the pen
• Plug in the USB cable, the screen should now display USB instead of Serial
• Run the MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe file and wait for the upgrade page to load
• Click the go button, should take 20 minutes or so.
• Reboot the device when asked.
