Autoexpress have found information about the new Skoda Octavia vRS PD170. I think my order may be changing over in this direction. My Fabia vRS is brilliant, torque is theway to go.

Let's hope Skoda announce the DSG gearbox for the car as well, and 4 whee drive……Yup so my order will be vRS PD170 DSG Estate in Race Blue.

It's been doing the rounds for a while now, so I thought I would comment. The 360 hack is not an XBox style hack that you would be used to if you chipped your Xbox 1. However if you come from the world of Playstation then this will be nothing new.

The hack essentially allows you to play backups on the device (as long as you burn them with the bitset set correctly). This involves changing the firmware on the TS-H943 drive in some Xbox 360's (others have an LG drive).

If you want to give it a go then I highly recommend you check out the forums at Xbox-Scene as they have all the lowdown, but here are some of the guides to get you started, Mod firmware and dual chipping the drive.

Red Bull Skoda have had a shock to the teams first gravel rally of the season. Harry Rovanpera has suffered a big crash during testing for the Rally of Sardinia.

Harry rolled the car causing extensive damage to the structure, basically relegating it to the bin for this weekends event at least.

Dietmar Metrich said “The car is pretty badly damaged all over, we will probably need a new chassis but the incident didn't affect either of the two competition Fabia WRCs set to run in the rally.”

The good news is that neither Harry or Andreas Aigner his co-driver have suffered no major injuries.

The new season of Top Gear aired over the weekend, boy was it good (Download it here if you have an EasyNews account).

They had the new Micra CC (in shocking pink), the Koenigsegg CCX (and the Stig crashing it!) a new reasonably priced car (a Chevy Lacette, or to you and be a Daewoo ) with a bunch of 'stars' taking it round the track (looks like it's about a second quicker than the old Suzuki Liana).

This weeks set piece was 'Make a people carrier convertible', which they did using an old Renault Espace, very amusing. I recommend a download if you have not seen it.

Hot on the heels of my how to upgrade to AKU2 article below; I thought it would now be a good time to review the HTC Universal, but more importantly the changes the AKU2 firmware.

There are a few reviews out on the net for the device in general, so I will not go too in depth on that. I will however go into detail on the AKU advancements and the all important fixes that the new firmware brings.

It seems there are a few search results coming in looking for how to upgrade your HTC Universal to the AKU2 Rom.

If you are using an O2 XDA Exec there is now a new Rom over on the XDA site, that would be your easiest way of updating.

However if like me you dislike all the rubbish that O2 tend to put in the ROM, then you can upgrade to one of the iMate Roms.

To do this download the latest iMate or QTek Rom (have a look here for your Rom) I use the uni_cdl_13068_130153_10900_wwe.exe ROM on my Exec.

Now download the patched MAUpgrade Util.

When you have both the Rom and the upgrade util you need to extract the Rom file into a folder (use WinRar to extract) and then place the MAUpgrade util into the same folder.

Make sure your Universal has better than 50% battery and is plugged into the USB port. After ActiveSync has finished connecting run the patched HimaUpgrade util, click through the OK's and yes's. 

Your Universal will now reboot into the boot ROM mode, if the HimaUpgrade util complains, click the close button and run it again (do not reboot your Universal, leave it in boot mode). If your device complains about country codes, then you need to put the device into BootRom mode manualy, to do this press the camera, power and reset buttons at the same time, this will then give you the Serial / USB upgrade rom mode, now re-launch the MA Upograde application and continue.

The upgrade will now happen, after 20 minutes or so enjoy your upgraded AKU2 device.
