Speed camera’s may be hidden after next year?
What Car are reporting that local councils may be able to start hiding their speed camera’s again after this year. Apparently the regulations governing the placement of said camera’s expire in April 2007. There are also concerns that due to the way local councils are going to be funded the camera networks upkeep could become neglected.
I personally hate speed camera’s with a passion, as most are sited in places they are plainly not needed; that said I can see the use for them around schools, and accident blackspots, however there has to be a better way of ’saving lives’ on our roads (better education anyone?)
