A funny comment from Richard Huddy (European Developer Relations), Huddy recalls how, “as [he] understands it,” Sony went to Nvidia very late in the development cycle and they delivered was a modified 7800GTX – which “is a pretty powerful piece of hardware,” he notes, “but not very elegant…Xbox 360 technology is likely to outperform PlayStation 3 technology by a pretty healthy margin in the long run.”.

Amusing, I do believe the PS3 will be powerful, it will be pretty as Sony cannot afford it to not be! However I think they have missed a trick not having a Live competitor for the new platform.

Now Microsoft have to just prove how good the ATI setup inside the 360 is by sorting the DVD playback out, it is truly shocking, but hey…..

On the people they enforce the law against. That aint nothing though just have a look at the attached video, this is how the ‘Ausies’ do it down under.

The rally is about to get going in earnest, for up to date information the best places are :-

• Official Dakar rally website
• Racing Live Dakar coverage (With a video diary)
• Eurosport (including video clips)

This year should be decent as they have outlawed one of the most useful technologies of recent times, GPS has been banned (sort of) and co-drivers must now read normal maps to get them from A-B. The GPS units that are supplied to the teams are official ones only and they activate automatically when within a 3km radius of a checkpoint, they also call home so the organisers know where all the vehicles are. There are also other minor changes, bikes are only capable of 150kph and fuel restrictions are in place this year.

Should be a good challenge for the drivers/riders (like it was easy before!). In Europe Eurosport will have regular updates when the rally gets into full swing.

After forgetting to Sky+ the new episode I decided I could not wait until new years day so ended up downloading the episode.

I must say that David Tennant is not a bad replacement Dr. If you have not seen it yet download it (Easynews link above) or like I said earlier it’s on again on new years day at 7pm (if memory serves), set the Sky+ now.

Tecmo have anounced that it has shipped, so with some luck we should have it before 2006 (if the shops are open near you that is).

I’ve been asked for this, so here it is. Codes for TV’s to be used with the Sky+ remote. Not sure if they work on the standard Sky remote, but you can try.
