Wordpress Upgrade

Like Dan I have upgraded to the latest Beta of Wordpress, and besides an odd problem with one of the plugins I was using it all seems ok.

However if you do find that the site is taking over theworld then please let me know.

RSS get’s everywhere

I have just been looking through my site log’s, I came across the search referrers information. Now with a site URL of nakedcleaner.com you can sort of work out what sort of search traffic I get

Well some of the traffic is ‘not really for this site’ let us say, but highly ‘educational’. I shall not go into too much detail, however I will post a few links to some of the researched information.

PLEASE NOTE - IF YOU ARE STILL IN NAPPIES AND DO NOT HAVE MOMMIES CONSENT THEN DON’T CLICK THE LINKS BELOW, THEY GO TO NAUGHTY PLACES!

Enough warning I think, on with the porn then (Oh for those old enough to have got this far, these ARE NOT WORK SAFE). I do not guarantee any of the content on these site’s and most of the site names are pretty descriptive.

For all your other Pron needs pop over to technorati and do yourself a search.

It’s just amazing what you find in a log file

My name is Earl

A friend of mine warned me about the Pilot for My name is Earl a few weeks back, however I never got around to taking a look.  This weekend however I did get a chance to watch a few episodes (4/5/6) so I still have not seen the pilot, but the order is not really a problem I don’t think.

It’s a very amusing series with some good cast playing the part’s of the main characters. For those that have not seen it, each episode has a task that he has to complete to check one of his items off his Karma List.

For those in the States it’s worth a watch it’s on NBC on Tuesday night’s, and for those that are not in the States then I have no idea if any of the UK/European channels have announced it yet, however it is available from the usual sources.

More Google

I’ve just downloaded and installed the Google Web Accelerator to have a play with. It seems that it diverts some of your traffic through the Google cache systems to attempt to speed up your browsing experience.  I have not had it installed long enough yet to say how good it is or is not.  I’ll keep you informed.

GPMA

The GPMA have launched there website. The GPMA (Grand Prix Manufacturers Association) is set up as a possible alternative to Formula 1.

Have a look at there website here

GP2 gets some newbies

Looks like the first year of GP2 was a success, so much so that all 12 teams from the 2005 season have signed up for 2006, plus a newcomer. Welcome to Trident Racing who will be the 13th team (cars 26/27) next year in the GP2 series.

The teams therefore are :-

ART Grand Prix 1 - 2
Arden International 3 - 4
Super Nova International 5 - 6
iSport International 7 - 8
Racing Engineering 9 - 10
Piquet Sports 11 - 12
DAMS 14 - 15
Coloni Motorsport 16 - 17
BCN Competicion 18 - 19
DPR 20 - 21
Durango 22 - 23
Campos Racing 24 - 25
Trident Racing 26 - 27

No driver lineups have been confirmed as of yet, although that information will come in shortly I would think.

Motor Sport News

Some news from around the world of motor sport.

  • Midland Racing have called themselves MF1 Racing and have shown of there red white and black logo (check out the website for all the latest)
  • Super Aguri and the FIA have not announced if they are to be the 11th F1 team next year. Apparently the FIA will publish the complete team list in December.
  • BMW will be calling there team BMW Sauber F1
  • Max Biaggi is apparently in talks with Team KR for a ride next year. Honda have not renewed his contract after a disappointing 2005 season on the factory RC211V HRC bike. (Interesting article on Eurosport)
  • There are rumours that apparently Red Bull Racing are in talks with Audi to supply engines for 2008! would be nice to see the VAG Group show up in F1. This comes at the same time as it is believed that Audi will pull out of the DTM series around the same time.
  • Another rumour is that the GM Group are thinking of bringing the Opel brand into F1 as they too are pulling out of DTM. I believe this a little less as GM are REALLY struggling for money at the moment, and Opel is not a global brand, only used in Africa and Europe (excluding GB). So unless a re brand of Vauxhall/Holden/GM is also in the works then I cannot really see this happening. But hey stranger things have happened in F1

So the motor sport world is still moving at a pace, glad  to hear the ‘off’ season has not slowed anything down

The KIA Sorento

I promised a little review of the KIA Sorento over the weekend, so here it is.

Driving

The Sorento drives very well for a car of it’s size. There is certainly under steer when cornering with any sort of aggression, but that is to be expected. The 2.5 4 cylinder diesel lump has plenty of torque and allows you to sit comfortably at motorway speeds without too much droning and wind noise. The gearbox has a relatively long throw, but this is common in 4×4’s. Fuel economy seems pretty good on the diesel engine; would hazard the 3.5ltr petrol would be a little less thrifty.

Style

Like I mentioned before it’s certainly no Range Rover Sport but it does look OK. There is certainly a passing resemblance to the Lexus RX300 from the front.  There is plenty of room inside and everything seems bolted together with no squeaks or rattles (the car has done 12000 miles, so this is a good sign).

4×4

I had very little chance to test these abilities. However the little green laneing I did worked out fine, the ground clearance is not as high as it could probably be, but the overhangs are not large so it should be difficult to beach on that front.

Spec

The spec I had is the XE 2.5d version, the kit included was fine (multi changer, some leather etc) there are 4 airbags, ABS, EBD, self levelling suspension, LSD, Alloys, fog lamps, air-con and a remote glass tailgate opening.

Overall

I would give this a good [rate 7.5].There is a lot of car for the 19,000 pound asked, however you could probably look at a 3 year old Range Rover for the same money. Hop along to the website and have a look for yourself.

Google Analytics

I bumped into Google Analytics today. Wow! I’ve been using one of the WordPress plug-ins (ShortStats), and I will continue to, however I will give Google’s free stuff a go.

The information is presented in a very pretty way with pic’s of countries of origin and graphing. The data is all mine-able and seems a nice interface to play with, oh and the now Google must, the Ajax is all in there.

Pop over and give it a go for yourself. Talking of new thing’s over at Google, Google Base is in beta, this allows you to add almost any information to the database and make it search-able.

XBox 360 amusing

Just read this blog entry, very amusing pop over and read it yourself, it’s all about the 360’s backwards compatibility.
